Kiwoom announced on the 7th, "We have signed a contract with Busan High School pitcher and batter Ha Hyeon-seung, whom we selected as the overall 1st pick, with a contract bonus of 1.6 billion won."

This surpasses the 1 billion won received by Han Ki-ju (KIA) in 2006, making it the highest rookie contract bonus in KBO League history.

Ha Hyeon-seung stood out as both a pitcher and a batter since his high school days. In this year's U-18 Asian Youth Baseball Championship, he appeared in three games, including the final, recording three wins and leading South Korea to victory.
