The Hanwha Eagles signed foreign pitcher Bruce Zimmermann (USA, born 1995) on the 20th.

The contract scale is a maximum of $440,000, including a $70,000 signing bonus, a $300,000 annual salary, and $70,000 in incentives.

Just one day after requesting the waiver of foreign pitcher Wilkel Hernandez to the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) on the 19th, the Hanwha Eagles recruited foreign pitcher Bruce Zimmermann.

Zimmermann is a tall left-handed pitcher standing 190cm, with the strength of corner work utilizing excellent command. His four-seam fastball velocity is in the mid-to-high 140km/h range, and he throws a variety of pitches including a slider, forkball, sinker, cutter, and curveball.

His career statistics in Triple-A over 7 seasons include 112 games (95 starts), 523 innings, 30 wins, 26 losses, and 500 strikeouts.

This season in Triple-A, he appeared in 15 games, all as a starter, recording 5 wins, 3 losses, and a 3.78 ERA. While with the St. Louis Cardinals, he also made one Major League appearance, recording 5 innings and 3 runs.

Having completed the contract, Zimmermann said, "I am truly happy to have the opportunity to join the Hanwha Eagles," and added, "While playing between the Major Leagues and Minor Leagues over the past three years, I have thought that I wanted to challenge myself in the Korean scene someday, and I am grateful to the Hanwha Eagles organization for believing in me and giving me this opportunity."

Zimmermann continued, "My former teammates have told me many good things about the KBO League. Watching recent international competitions, I felt that the level of Asian baseball has grown significantly, and I also wanted to prove my skills on that stage." He expressed his determination, saying, "I will grasp the team's current situation well to adapt quickly, and I will do my best to find ways I can be helpful to the team."
