Ive's Jang Won-young Faces Lip-sync Controversy Again at Everland Event... Netizens Divided
Ive member Jang Won-young is facing lip-syncing allegations following a performance at Everland's Caribbean Bay, with netizens debating whether the volume discrepancy in her parts indicates lip-syncing compared to An Yu Jin's live vocals.
[News & Book = Reporter Song Young-du] Jang Won-young, a member of the group Ive, has been swept into a lip-syncing controversy during a recent event stage.
Centered around online communities, a video was shared showing the members of Ive performing 'I AM' at an event held at Everland's Caribbean Bay in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do.
In the video, the members of Ive showcased flawless high notes, but suspicions of lip-syncing were raised as some pointed out that the volume sounded different only during Jang Won-young's singing parts.
In particular, reactions were divided among fans and netizens as her performance was compared to the live vocals of member An Yu Jin, who performed while sitting due to a knee injury but stood up to sing passionately during the high notes.
While some netizens raised lip-syncing suspicions, suggesting that only Jang Won-young's parts seemed to have a different volume, others showed various reactions, such as suggesting she may have simply sung live as well as the studio recording.
Previously, the agency Starship Entertainment stated that An Yu Jin would participate in the stage without the choreography to prevent her injury from worsening, following medical advice regarding discomfort in her knee area.
