[News & Book = Reporter Kang Sun-young] Disney+ 'The Remarried Empress' has confirmed its release date for November 4.
On the 26th, Disney+ confirmed the release date for the new original series 'The Remarried Empress' and released a teaser trailer and character posters.
'The Remarried Empress' is a romance fantasy epic that unfolds after Navier (Shin Min-a), the impeccable Empress of the Eastern Empire, receives news of her divorce from Emperor Sovieshu (Ju Ji-hoon), who has been bewitched by Rashta (Lee Se-young), a former runaway slave. Navier demands permission to remarry Prince Heinrich (Lee Jong-suk) of the Western Kingdom on the condition that she accepts the dissolution of her marriage.
It is based on the webtoon of the same name, which recorded a cumulative 2.97 billion global views (as of July 2026).
The released teaser trailer begins with the grand scenery of the powerful Eastern Empire, foreshadowing an overwhelming scale and a previously unseen worldview. Following the image of Empress 'Navier' sitting loftily against a beautiful light, 'Sovieshu' vows, "No matter what happens, you are my only wife," showing the once-perfect relationship between the two. However, as 'Rashta' appears before 'Sovieshu,' cracks begin to form in the once-solid relationship. The scenes follow 'Sovieshu' falling for 'Rashta,' 'Rashta' unhesitatingly enjoying her sudden happiness, and 'Navier' trying to steady her heart while watching them, foreshadowing an imperial scandal that will spiral out of control.
The story enters a new phase with the appearance of Prince 'Heinrich' of the Western Kingdom. 'Heinrich' approaches to comfort 'Navier,' while 'Sovieshu' reveals jealousy and anger as he watches the two grow closer. As the relationships of the four people begin to diverge and reach a climax, 'Sovieshu' finally notifies 'Navier' of the divorce. However, 'Navier,' remaining unshaken even in the face of shocking betrayal, accepts the divorce while simultaneously demanding permission for remarriage, bringing massive turmoil to the Eastern Empire.
Attention is focused on whether 'The Remarried Empress' can continue the popularity of the original work, which succeeded globally through its overwhelming scale and the intertwined relationships of the four men and women.
'The Remarried Empress' will be released only on Disney+ on November 4.
