The greatest box office blockbuster that turned this year's movie theaters upside down and rewrote the history of the Korean film industry is finally coming to home theaters.
Amid the fierce competition for special movie lineups among terrestrial TV broadcasters during the upcoming Chuseok holiday, Director Jang Hang-jun's 10-million-viewer film 'Man Living with the King' has been finalized as an SBS Chuseok special movie, gathering explosive anticipation.
Released last February, the film 'Man Living with the King' surpassed a cumulative audience of 16 million people thanks to its solid story and the passionate performances of masterpiece actors, achieving the grand record of being the 2nd highest-grossing film ever released in Korea and the 1st in terms of lifetime box office revenue for Korean films.
As the terrestrial channel SBS has decided to program such mega-hit content for the holiday season when the whole family gathers, hot reactions are pouring in from viewers who missed the theatrical release as well as "repeat viewers" aiming for another watch. It is scheduled to be broadcast on the 26th during the Chuseok holiday at 9:30 PM.
Set in Cheongnyeongpo in 1457, this film touchingly depicts the story of the young king 'Yi Hong-wi' (Park Ji-hoon), who was exiled after being ousted from the throne, and 'Eom Heung-do' (Yoo Hae-jin), the village head of the mountain village Gwangcheon-gol.
Actor Yoo Hae-jin's deep life-acting, Park Ji-hoon's sorrowful emotional lines showing a radical transformation, and the perfect ensemble of Yu Ji-tae (as Han Myeong-hoe) and Jeon Mi-do (as Maehwa) who coordinate the tension of the drama are expected to instantly capture the eyes and ears of home viewers during the holiday season.
